Always feeling different from others, Shayla Morgan has gone out of her way to draw people to her quirky behavior and sharp sarcastic banter, rather than uncover the genius she is.  This strategy has worked brilliantly in the past , until she goes head to head with Rory McFelan and in one  mind-blowing moment spends her frustration with him in bed working it out of her system.  Another brilliant plan goes by the wayside when Rory, who is Alpha of the Sparrowhawks informs her she is his mate, what’s a girl to do faced with a life altering statement, run.

Rory is tired of being patient, waiting for Shayla to come back.  He has his own strategy in place to have her by his side and once he does he will make sure she never leaves again.  Rory had never planned on taking a mate after his own painful childhood, but Shayla has him glad he did.  At every turn the stubborn woman surprises him, pregnant with his pup, her strength is limitless and he finds himself falling hard for his mate.  As a hidden threat seeks to break them apart, they must commit fully to one another to find the betrayer.

Not sure why I have never picked up a Zena Wynn story before, but I am definitely picking up the whole series, this being number six.  Amazing story, loved every morsel.  The mating between Rory and Shayla is raw and intense; they both make mistakes but find a way to work through them which draws the reader in more.  Engaging story from the very first page, found myself unable to put this one down.
