Review: Risking It All by Jennifer Schmidt

"The day college playboy Memphis Adams entered into Kennedy Monroe’s life, everything shifted."

The day college playboy Memphis Adams entered into Kennedy Monroe’s life, everything shifted.  Memphis didn’t see Kennedy as another conquest and Kennedy gained a best friend.  Twelve years later, Kennedy is dating her boyfriend of the last two years and is at an impasse.  Memphis suggest she join him on his next assignment in Alaska, wanting time to think, she agrees to go.

If ever a life altering moment would arrive in Kennedy’s life, this was it.  Her feelings for Memphis have been a struggle of late wanting something more.  When she acts on  it, she finds that Memphis shares the same desires.  As she comes to grips with her old life and her new, she has some important decisions to make that could ruin everything if she isn’t honest with herself first.

Unique story, I thought that it had a very  realistic feel to it.  Kennedy is caught in the middle of understanding  what she needs and actually going for it, as she goes on her own internal journey of finding herself.  I liked Memphis a lot, he stumbles with communicating what he truly feels with Kennedy but he knows what he wants even though Kennedy is trying to figure it out.  Intriguing read.
