Review: Avert: A Terran Times Tale by Viola Grace

"Viola Grace plucks a young woman from the jaws of death at the hands of Raiders and places her with the Nameless, the time traveling beings who observe but do not get involved in history."

Sky Raynard works at Resku Station.  When Raiders attack the station, they kill Sky.  When Sky wakes, she finds a stranger standing over her saying everything will be alright.  The Orb of Time selects Sky to be one of the Nameless, observers of time.  The Orb has a special destiny planned for Sky.  She will help to avert specific events in history so the future will proceed in the direction the Orb requires.  Sky finds herself drawn to her mentor, the man who rescued her.  Can Sky be happy as one of the Nameless?

Tavik knows at once that Sky is his destined mate.  He is almost too late to save her when the Raiders attack Resku Station.  He vows to keep her safe.  Unfortunately, he does not know the plans the Orb of Time has for Sky.  It keeps her busy jumping as she averts one danger after the other.  Tavik knows that the Orb is sending Sky on missions forbidden by Nameless teachings, but the Orb of Time has the final word.  Can Tavik keep up with Sky?

Viola Grace plucks a young woman from the jaws of death at the hands of Raiders and places her with the Nameless, the time traveling beings who observe but do not get involved in history.  Sky’s role is not one of observation.  Sky’s assignments force her to change events that will, in turn, manipulate future events.  The Orb of Time as a hidden agenda and the Terran members of the Nameless are it’s tools.  Tavik wants Sky in his future, so he must help her achieve her goals.  Ms. Grace tests the commitment between Sky and Tavik as they jump through time to obey the Orb.  Do Sky and Tavik have a future together?
