Review: One Fiery Night by Em Petrova

"Make a hot afternoon even hotter!"

When a total hunk of a fireman saves Josie from her blazing house, both were surprised that they had known each other in a very sexual way in college.  Luke Puckett doesn’t want any kind of family commitment though, after losing his brother to a fire and his brother leaving a wife and kids behind.  Luke didn’t want that life for anyone else.  So when Josie’s body brought the blood racing back to his, he has to find a way to deal with his issues or leave her behind forever.  Then there’s the matter of Josie having a fling with his brother years ago, can he forgive that as well?  When the flames fly beneath the sheets, they both must come to terms with this relationship to make it work but when tragedy strikes again, will that be the end of their story?

This short story was well worth the afternoon to read.  It made a hot afternoon even hotter!  I did wish the story could have been longer to really delve deeper into the feelings  both characters had for each other.  Being married to a fireman, I do understand the frustration of not being able to help or even to know what’s going on and I think that could have been explored a little bit more.  However, this book is full of fire and love and dreams and sex and makes for a great quick read!   This is the first in the Firehouse 5 series and I can’t wait to read about the rest of the crew!  If the rest of the covers are as hot as this one…I’d buy them just to sit on my shelves!
