Review: Feral Series V: Feral Foretaste by Skhye Moncrief
Vult is a cyborg geneticist and one of the Fathers. His experiments are partly responsible for the genetic abnormalities afflicting the planet. Vult and the other Fathers look on Cassie as a Goddess because she has the power to cleanse their planet and save their children. Vult becomes Cassie’s mate. The sexual attraction between them is explosive. Vult fears that Cassie is only reacting to his pheromones, which were created to help the cyborgs during their Mate Quests to find suitable females. Cassie fears that she will go blind like another Handler did when he cleansed a planet. Vult promises Cassie that he will find a way for her to help the !Dakos without that happening. Can he keep his vow?
In the fifth book of the Feral series, Skhye Moncrief returns to help the !Dakos, a race of cyborgs, overcome the genetic plague destroying their female children. The Marshals helped another race of cyborgs (former enemies of the !Dakos) cleanse their planet, so the !Dakos want the same opportunity. Cassie is the key to their salvation. Ms. Moncrief takes the reader along on a rollercoaster ride of emotions as Cassie fights to come to terms with what she must do. Cassie’s journey to recognize Vult’s love is no less daunting. Will Cassie be able to save the !Dakos planet and her daughters?
