review: Geisha for Hire by Shawn Bailey

"Shawn Bailey pens a delightfully refreshing tale with Geisha For Hire."

Jayce Ito and Marley Bonds have been best friends since childhood.  He has helped her with her entertainment company by posing as a clown and other characters for birthday parties.  He refuses, though, when she asks him to pose as a geisha for a client’s birthday party.  Marley has no problems calling on the big guns to convince him and, somehow, Jayce finds himself as a geisha at a party.  He is sure his life will never be the same when the birthday “boy” turns out to be his new boss, Rueben Danza.

Reuben’s best friend, Payton Roberts, loves to throw unusual birthday parties for Reuben and this one promises to be memorable.  Payton has a beautiful geisha performing and as the drinks flow, Reuben decides to really let loose and decides to get up close and personal with the lovely geisha.  Jayce knows he is in trouble when Reuben decides he must date the geisha.

While Jayce was sometimes a little too naïve, he is balanced perfectly by Reuben who is a little bit too much at times.  The misconceptions, innuendos, and just the whole concept of digging yourself in deeper made Geisha for Hire a fun book to read, often leaving you laughing.  The scenes between Reuben and Jayce got progressively hotter and hotter, convincing  you that smoke will surely start rising off the pages from all that heat.  Looking for something different?  Try Geisha for Hire by Shawn Bailey, a book designed to increase your blood pressure in a good way..
