Leah is on vacation, and is looking forward to a few days of peace and quiet, curled up on her sofa reading with her cat, Fluke, sitting by her side. Perusing the daily newspaper after checking the Internet, Leah is searching for any news of a supposed Alien invasion from outer space that she has been hearing about from the soldiers at a local nightclub. Twenty five years earlier an Alien species, named the Dar, had invaded Earth,  been rebuffed, and had abandoned their assault. Every few months there would be headlines screaming that the Dar had returned, but until Leah had overheard the soldiers discussing their Dar captives, Leah had never believed in the news.

Locating no news of an Alien invasion, Leah is looking forward to a peaceful day of reading and relaxing in the house that was left to her by her grandmother. Fluke wants to go outside, and when Leah opens the door to allow the cat to leave, Leah notices that Fluke goes to the shrubbery along the wall of the house.  Sudden  noises coming from the bushes draws Leah there, where she is promptly grabbed and pulled into her home by a tall, dark, handsome stranger.  Finding herself a captive of a half human, half  Dar, Leah soon comes to trust him as he tells her the reason why he is on Earth.   Leah and the Dar, named Gabriel, with Fluke safely boarded, find themselves running for their lives from both the army and the Dar hoping to reach a Senator who could perhaps help them.

The adventures continue as Gabriel discovers who and what he really is while his feelings deepen into love for Leah. Will their love be enough to overcome all of the obstacles they are facing?

This is a sexy  adventure that will keep the reader enthralled until the last page is finished. Taken Unaware is the perfect weekend pleasure read to get away from it all.  Summer Devon has a huge hit on her hands, and I can only hope that there will be more stories to follow. Kudos Ms. Devon!
