Review: Mind Magic by Poppy Dennison

"Poppy Dennison brings together two unlikely heroes in Mind Magic."

As an apprentice mage, one of the things Simon Osborne has learned is that magical species never mix.  But how can he ignore the calls for help by werewolf cubs?  Simon knows he cannot.  He rescues them from a  powerful demon who was draining them of their magic.  This throws him in conflict with his own mage instructor as well as the alpha of the cub’s pack, Gray Townsend.

Gray is not sure what to do with this mage who is now considered a friend to the pack.  He did save his son; so Gray knows he must accept him.  But he knows the attraction he feels for him cannot be.  He also knows he needs him to find the demon.  The two resolve to work together to find the demon before he strikes again.  It does not prove to be easy and neither does resisting the impossible and forbidden temptation prove to be easy.

Poppy Dennison did a great job in developing Simon and Gray.  Simon just wanted to be a full mage but he could not ignore the cubs’ call for help.  As a result, he met Gray who was the father of one of the cubs as well as the alpha of the werewolves.  Both knew it could not work and yet both craved the other’s company.  It was exciting to watch the story unfold with its twists and surprises.  Poppy Dennison brings in the different types of magic and explains how they work, adding a little something extra to the mix. With all that in mind, we also have to remember that no one is truly as they seem in Mind Magic.  Grab your copy of Mind Magic and be prepared to be transported into a world of magical creatures, but beware many of them have some of the same cravings humans do, both good cravings and bad ones.
