Powerful gladiator Aris and Caomh, a beauty Gaul, became unlikely friends.  Aris is upset to learn he is come up against Caomh the next day in the arena.  His masters do not care that Aris is friends with Caomh.  He must do as he is told or be killed.  He cannot, therefore, tell Caomh  not when he comes to him with one last request.

Caomh is prepared to die for Aris but not without knowing him a little better.  After a pleasurable night spent together, the two face each other in the arena.  The crowd is there for a show and perhaps they will spare Caomh if the show they give them is something to remember.

So much heat in so few pages and yet we still feel as if we get to know Aris and Caomh.  We feel Aris’ pain when he has to kill his best friend, just as we feel Caomh’s pain and determination to die for Aris.  Aris turned out to have more than physical strength and he takes a risk that could be beneficial.  For more, you need to read this wonderfully short and sensual story.  One happy point is that Gladiators: Love Before Death by  Rosa Steel is Book 1.  That means there are more books for our future enjoyment.
