Daniel Hart’s life is going wonderfully.  He is almost done with his PhD and he has a wonderful relationship with his lover, Rhys Daveth.  Unfortunately, Rhys is also a doppelganger and a master criminal.  One of his professors make shim face the fact that Daniel must make a choice between his love and his vocation when it becomes clear that what Rhys does is in conflict with Daniel’s goals.  Then a lover from Rhys’s past catches up with Daniel.  He wants Rhys back and plans to get him at the expense of Daniel.  He too is a doppelganger and plans to take on Daniel’s shape and leave Daniel dead.  Daniel’s only hope is Rhys and, after their last parting, Daniel is not sure Rhys will help.

I love the whole concept of Cari Z.’s Reclaimed.  Rhys is able to take on shells at will and can change who he is.  Interesting, though, that his love can recognize him even wearing various shells.  Daniel was made to realize that he protects antiquities and Rhys steals them.  How can the two mix?  Daniel felt they could not, but neither could stop the love and it is the love that saves Daniel in the end.  Beautifully written with two magnificent heroes, Reclaimed shows love can save the day.  Reclaimed will also have you on the edge of your seat as the plot unfolds and we cannot be sure what will happen next.  Great job for Cari Z
