Review: The Night Shift by Missouri Dalton

"Missouri Dalton pens a tale that will capture you imagination and keep you up with Night Shift."

Fynn Adder finds his job with the Night Shift is a constant learning experience.  Even after two years, Fynn finds there are things he still needs to learn.  Assigned a trainee named Simon Murphy, Fynn finds himself and his new partner investigating one of the worst possible murders possible, that of a child, and a particular grisly one at that.  If that does not test his sobriety, Fynn is sure the net murder will.  Fynn, Simon and his home partner, Jack hare racing to find a necromancer before a final murder completes a ritual.  To top it off, Simon is being shadowed by FBI agent Gabriel Sheppard, who is positive that Simon is the key to putting Simon’s mob boss father in jail.  Not only that but Tara’s birthday is coming; the King of Elves wishes a conference with Fynn; and some family secrets crop up when least expected.  A full plate for Fynn and his crew makes a drink more appealing.

Night Shift was a great book to read.  Fynn was the perfect hero.  Trouble seems to follow him around.  The problems he gets into make you laugh and then you want to cry as he investigates  a particularly horrifying crime.  A wealth of supernatural entities populate the pages, each entity with their own particular brand of idiosyncrasy.   The plot drew you in and kept you with your nose in the pages.  Each turn of the page was a new adventure.  Night Shift by Missouri Dalton is perfect for those of us who enjoy variety, excitement  and danger in our stories.
