Rio Hardin has received more than his fair share of hard knocks in life. Being a sadistic, psychotic alpha’s pain and humiliation toy just makes him distrustful of all alphas. Mick may have saved him from certain hell and death; but, that is no reason for Rio to trust him. So why can Rio not stand the thought of being separated from Mick?

Mick Matranga is one bad-ass enforcer with a reputation for doing his negotiating with is fangs and claws. Taking care of Sutter was a pleasure. Taking care of an emotionally wounded, former human pup of a werewolf for longer than it takes to find someone else to take Rio on is not in the plans. So why is the “I delivered them who cares what happens afterward” enforcer suddenly so interested in what happens to one lonely pup?

Altered Heart by Kate Steele is a spicy little appetizer sure to please even the most discerning reader’s palate. Ms. Steele has once again proven her mastery of the man love genre and paranormal fantasy. This one is sure to leave her die hard fans in ecstasy and make first-time-Kate-Steele-readers into true believers. Ah, Mick; he is a sexy, clueless alpha male with a heart the size of Texas and a personality sure to leave me sighing in pleasure. Rio is the cutest little thing; sure to win the hearts of everyone who “meets” him. To say that the secondary characters leave me rubbing my hands together in anticipation of sequels would be an understatement. These wonderfully delightful secondary characters add spice and depth to the story line and overall impressions of Mick and Rio. I must add that, while I did spend time day dreaming about certain secondary character, the focus was never off of the main characters. I could spend hours gushing on and on about this particular offering; but, I’ll stop before I give away the good bits. Masterful story telling at its finest, Ms. Steele. So, if I make the big sad puppy eyes and the pathetic little whining noises do you think we will get a sequel faster?

Warning: If male on male carnality leaves you looking for the barf bag, then please do us the favor of leaving this particular pup in its kennel.
