Kayla Sinclair had the man of her dreams in her arms for only a few minutes before he tore it up and walked out of her life.  Now two years later Cord Marsden is back and he plans to claim Kayla and make up for the mistakes he made all those years ago.  Kayla though, is still fighting the aftermath of a brutal attack.  When an attempted abduction on Kayla looks to be too random to ignore, Cord finds his in, he will protect Kayla while winning her heart all over again.  Kayla isn’t sure if she wants to put all of her trust in Cord though, after all he broke her heart before.

Seductively intriguing story. You are pulled in immediately with Kayla wanting to prove to Cord that she is ready to be his woman, but Cord is dark and he sees Kayla as young and untouchable.  When Cord realizes all the struggles that Kayla has been through, he knows he has to take it slow and gain her trust once again.  I thought this was a fascinating story and look forward to reading more of Lorna Jean Roberts books in the future.
