Review: Mary and the Bear by Zena Wynn

""

Mary and the Bear is a wonderful paranormal story that truly has an emotional aspect as well as a hot and spicy side. The pain at the beginning of the novel blends into the new beginning for the characters and actually acts as a strong force in the story. Drama and danger are wonderfully linked to create a tale that will have the readers on the edge of their seat gasping as events unfold.

Mary’s sister is dead. Her life is stagnating and her mother wants her to come home and play the dutiful daughter. When a chance at a dream job in a new state arrives, Mary is ready to get on with her life and try a new adventure. Moving is truly the easy part. What she encounters after the move is the tricky part. Hugh owns the building where Mary is living now. As a Bear shifter, Hugh has a lot on his mind. When he sees Mary the attraction is instant. After fighting his desires, Hugh soon realizes that it is too late for him, Mary is his. When a man from Mary’s past comes to town, trouble breaks out and it will be up to Hugh to save Mary and the life they have in store in for them.

Zena Wynn’s story is definitely magical. The characters are strong and empathetic. It was a pleasure to read something fresh and invigorating when it comes to the paranormal genre. This was definitely a book worth buying and reading more than once. I can’t wait to read more about these delightful shifters.
