Review: The Ta’e’sha Caesurae 2: Crimson Shackles by Theolyn Boese

""

Theolyn Boese has written a story that is part of a series, yet can be read alone. After reading this novel, if you haven’t read the first book, you will definitely want to. The characters are beautifully portrayed and elegantly captured. There is passion, heartbreak, and intense love. Crimson Shackles was an emotional roller coaster that was truly pleasing to the senses.

Shay had no intentions of purchasing a slave when she stopped at the slave auction. When she sees the beautiful young man on stage she is compelled to bid for him. But when she outbids a ruthless man, she knows that she is in a lot of trouble. Raerei is definitely not happy when his wife returns to their ship with a young man in tow. Shay is attracted to the man and a pirate is after the slave he lost. Raerei is even more incensed to learn these things. Jaed’aden is definitely not all he appears to be. His spirit is still intact and his desire to love is waiting to be set free. Under the care of Raerei and Shay, he will learn to love and be loved in return.

Theolyn Boese has crafted a world that is not to be missed. Her story is sensual and beautiful, filled with pain and heartbreak that can only be healed by true love and acceptance. This is definitely a series not to be missed and an author whose work is fulfilling and a pleasure to read. I can not wait to read more of this author’s work and hopefully more novels set in this world.
