Tabitha Mason sits in a dream home and wonders what went wrong. She has no job, no friends and her husband has not been truthful with her. She is reduced to watching her neighbor move in for entertainment. Tabitha does not realize it but her new neighbor, Jasmine King, becomes a turning point for her as she quickly becomes her close friend and the two embark on quite an adventure. Her husband has been cheating not only Tabitha but also his employer. He has some off the record buyers and for one of them he has obtained The Onyx Palace, a costly acquisition when it results in the presumed death of his assistant manager and the police are called in. Also called in are Johnson and Associates at the request of The Collector. Brad and Ben Johnson meet Tabitha and Jasmine and instant attraction occurs across the racial boundaries. As the four unite to obtain the 8^th artifact, danger follows them at every turn. This is not the usual danger. They are confronting beings with powers they have never seen before and will need to rely on each other if they are to survive.

The contrasts between black and white in The Onyx Palace is incredible. The two Johnsons are brothers in work and temperament, both a bit irreverent, but come from different races as do Tabitha and Jasmine. The interplay between these four was delightful and witty, with the chemistry strong and explosive. The plot was intriguing and had a surprise for the ending. Fun, erotic, suspenseful and action packed, The Onyx Palace is one not to be missed. Diane Charles Linford and Jade Rivers continue the excellence set for this series since the first book debuted.
