Review: Changing Hearts by Marilu Mann

"Lions and tigers and bears oh my, Joie can handle them all but can she handle that lone wolf she finds in Changing Hearts, another engrossing tale by Marilu Mann, her second in the Lusting Wild series."

Badly beaten and weakened from poison, Malcolm Slade decides to escape his compound and pack by slipping away during the confusion. He collapses on a bank in the bayou and passes out. Responding to the call of a wounded animal, Joie Sue Landry finds a large wolf, badly injured. She and her Tante Kay Fugua manage to bring the animal back to the house where they nurse, stitch and bandage him. Tante Kay senses that the wolf is more than just a wolf. She also senses that he will be more to Joie than just an injured animal. Joie is not upset when the wolf turns out to be Malcolm, the first man to stir her since her disastrous move to Atlanta. Slade though has many battles to fight and knows his future is uncertain at best. And yet, he is drawn to this woman, a human. To protect her and her Tante Kay, he knows he must go back and that he may not return.

Joie had been badly hurt in Atlanta. She returned to the comfort and safety of her roots, the bayou. Slade had always lived his life alone, avoiding attachments and love. Two wounded people come together with the opportunity to heal each other only to have it ripped from them. Will they recover from this? What will they need to do in order to be together? Grab Changing Hearts and find out. Marilu Mann does an excellent job with Changing Hearts, a tale of true love that was almost lost.
