Authors, add your free read. Review: Giving Thanks by Maura AndersonTroy has just completed a double shift so he can spend Thanksgiving with his love, Derek. He has mixed feeling because Derek has still not told his family about them and they need to hide their relationship. Everything has changed when he arrives home to find Derek upset in the kitchen. Derek’s father had been hounding him to marry and get rid of his loser roommate. Derek told his father that Troy was more than a roommate only to have his father strike him and kick him out of the restaurant where Derek is head chef and part owner. Unable to face Thanksgiving without the trimmings, Derek is prepared to give thanks that he has Troy. A tragic response turns out to be Derek’s and Troy’s finest moment. Their love is strong enough to survive Derek’s pain while at the same time it strengthens their relationship. The varying responses was interesting to see and made for some enjoyable reading. A quick, pleasurable read, Giving Thanks with have us all Giving Thanks for this wonderful tale by Maura Anderson.
