The Ghost Shrink, the Accidental Gigolo & the Poltergeist Accountant by Vivi Andrews

"Lucy sees dead people...NAKED dead people."

Lucy Cartwright has noticed a disturbing shift in her clientèle. Not that her clients were normal to begin with. She’s a medium, a ghost therapist. She helps counsel the newly dead, resolving their issues so that they can move on to the next plane. Lately she’s been awakened by middle aged men wanting to realize their suppressed sexual fantasies. Her boss, Karma (and yeah, she just might be THAT Karma) explained that her own sexual frustration dictates which ghosts are drawn to her.

Enter Jake Cox; private investigator, Karma’s brother and the hottest man Lucy has ever seen. He needs her help. He needs to speak with a ghost that Karma is sure will show to Lucy. The catch is, no matter how delectable Jake finds Lucy, he can’t act on his impulses. If she’s no longer sexually frustrated then Jake’s sexually frustrated ghost won’t be drawn to her.

If that weren’t enough, the poltergeist that Jake needs to speak with has decided to become Lucy’s protector. Not allowing anyone, more specifically Jake, within two feet of Lucy. So what is a horny medium with a ghost for a chastity belt to do?

This book had me in tears. Ms. Andrews is an excellent storyteller who lets her characters lead where they will. Lucy is a competent medium who has to put up with nightly visits from ghostly wanna-be Lotharios who name body parts “The Larrinator”. Jake and Lucy light up the page with repressed (and some times not so repressed) sexual tension. Ghost Shrink, the Accidental Gigolo and the Poltergeist Accountant is  a laugh out loud roller coaster ride. I didn’t want to put this book down, and anxiously await another foray into Ms. Andrews’ world.

I read and loved The Ghost Shrink, the Accidental Gigolo and the Poltergeist Accountant, and wholeheartedly agree with your 5 star rating! It’s virtually impossible to read this book without laughing so hard you cry, so think twice before reading it (a) in public, or (b) while eating or drinking.

Just one note on your excellent review — as is correctly shown in the headline, the author is Ms. Andrews, not Ms. Tyler as referenced near the end of the review.

 oops, you are correct Vivant! The author’s name is now correct in the review. Please excuse our editing error.

 Thank you for catching that Vivant, and for fixing it Donna. This is what happens when I write reviews while “Dude Looks Like a Lady” is blaring from my playlist. (Steven Tyler…mmmmmmm). I apologize to Ms. Andrews. To the readers: …and no, Jake Cox in NO WAY looks like a lady

One of my best friends uses “Dude Looks Like a Lady” as her personalized ring tone for me cuz I’m such an Aerosmith junkie. How did you know, Joletta?

Thanks for the fabulous review! You can call me whatever you want!
