Review: Wolf Rain by Flesa Black

"When Harm and Diana meet, the world finally has a chance."

Diana is trying to get home through the dangerous streets of London without attracting attention, but taking an alley as a shortcut seems to have been a bad idea today. She is attacked by a pack of werewolves and what is really strange is that they are able to shift during the daytime. This means the mutation that was activated by an enzyme that was put into the rain to create the weres is accelerating.

Harm is surprised when he comes to the aid of a woman being attacked by a pack of weres that she has managed to hold them off and do some damage as well. Harm works for the military trying to stop the weres. He is uniquely able to do this because he is a partial, meaning he has some of the genes of the were DNA but not all. This gives him the enhanced senses but allows him to remain human.

Harm is instinctively, overwhelmingly attracted to Diana. This feeling of “Mine” that he has never felt before for a woman. And Diana responds to his passion and the odd connection between them. From this, Harm can only conclude that Diana is his meant to be his mate.

But when Harm discovers that Diana is the child of the man who created the Wolf Rain, he realizes that here is finally an opportunity to end the terror of the weres once and for all. But will the weres allow them to complete their task?

The idea of modified rain causing the change in some humans to werewolves was definitely a new concept for me. While the story works at the novella length, I could see it as a much longer story that could have been fantastic.  Overall, if you are looking for a quick action, paranormal, sexy story, this is what you have been looking for.

Enjoy.
