With feelings of despair, Teran believes the vile men chasing her will seize her before she can elude them this time. Since she has matured, her looks has captured the interest of the men in her town, and they think she can be theirs for the taking. With no one to truly help her, she feels all hope is gone as the men gain on her until a strange man suddenly appears in her path. With his unnatural red-colored eyes, Teran is momentarily overwhelmed and faints.

Although he has lived in the forest for many years, Sebastian has no immediate contact with the human race except for when they are needed for sustaining his nourishment by supplying blood. When the young woman literally falls at his feet, he feels an instantaneous craving for her blood and sexual satisfaction. After whisking the woman away to the safety of his home, she awakens to find her rescuer in the room with her. Although Teran knows she should be frightened of the extraordinary man, she feels compellingly drawn to him. Unfortunately, Sebastian does not heed the one rule she asked of him when she said she would stay with him, so she feels she can no longer remain in his home without complete trust. With the bond running deeply between them, neither can forget the other. Now they must decide if they can just ignore the feelings they once shared, or try to find a compromise with which they can both live in the years to come.

No matter what subject or genre she chooses, CJ England is always able to create an unforgettable story brimming with sincere emotions and actions. This paranormal tale showcases Ms. England gift for making the reader care about her main couple, as a connection is formed from the instant the characters are met. From the panic being felt by Teran to the overwhelming sense of protectiveness expressed by Sebastian, these characters became so real to me, where I was also able to perceive the intensity of the scene. Though the life of the vampire Sebastian is often surrounded by darkness, he discovers there are still some human emotions left inside him, ones he tries greatly to deny. However, the more he is around Teran, the more difficult it is to keep his profound thoughts and wishes under control. During the story, the frequent battle-of-wills was vividly brought to life from the determination conveyed by this couple, and I often found myself hurting or rejoicing right along with them. AN UNHOLY EMBRACE is a stunning story which speaks to the heart of the reader through its affecting scenes on every page.
