Sean Donaldson is more than willing to bring down a dust addict who has a gun. With the help of his friend, Taber, he succeeds but both he and the addict are injured. In the infirmary, he meets another injured person, Captain Amy Bryson, and Sean is instantly captivated. It is not long before the two get together and their union is incredible. But Amy is a Shay and is afraid it is her pheromones that attract Sean and not her. Sean has unresolved guilt from his past that prevents him from fully committing. When danger threatens Amy and her well being, Sean knows he will do anything to keep her safe.

The Bond series was exciting and unique with each story giving us something different. Sean was plagued with feelings of guilt from the past while Amy was determined to enter a race even with danger lurking everywhere. The two together were dynamite but their pasts blinded them to what they could have. Typical of the Bond series, The Bond That Saves Us has realistic characters, an excellent plot and some heat to warm us up. Christine d’Abo has another winner on her hands with The Bond That Saves Us.
