Review: Beautiful Boys by Anne Cain

"Anne Cain pens a beautiful quartet of tales guaranteed to bring a smile to your face with her latest release, Beautiful Boys."

Beautiful Boys is a series of four stories, one leads into another.  In “Getaway” we meet Dean who decides to take his dream vacation even if he has to take it with his ex. Left alone on a deserted island, Dean finds he is not quite alone. There is a treasure on the island with him. He just has to chase it down, something that turns out to be rather pleasurable.

Dean’s brother, Neil is featured in the story “Jinx.” Neil finds that Thursdays are always bad for him and this Thursday is turning out to be the same, especially when a surprise birthday party is thrown for him. But wait – the male stripper hired is quite a delight until he learns there is a reason he is called Jinx.

Nathan is glad his friend Jinx has found someone. In “Calculus and Condoms,” Nathan would love to meet his own someone but knows he already has. The only problem – his special someone is his room mate and he does not want to do anything to jeopardize their friendship.

“Dangerous Love” concludes the quartet. We return to the magazine where Neil works to find Andy and Luke working on ads. The two seem to fight all the time and cannot agree on anything. That is until they meet one night at a bar.

These four stories are each unique and a delight to read. There is laughter and passion, surprises and love. Each one of the eight guys finds someone who is special to them and love blooms. The magic of Anne Cain’s pen shines from the pages are we are taken from hot to cold, from sadness to happiness. Beautiful Boys is one tale you do not want to miss.
