Review: Second Chances II: Do Me a Favor by CJ England

"DO ME A FAVOR is emotively affecting with a myriad of extremely emotional circumstances plus steamily passionate intimacy."

For the next book in her Second Chances series, CJ England has emotions pouring from every page as situations continuously arise which call forth deep inner feelings. The superb writing skill of Ms. England is once again able to create an outstanding story where the characters will not soon be forgotten.

The peaceful existence at the isolated mountain cabin where Favor Rowan lives is disrupted when an airplane crashes nearby. When she goes to investigate, she finds all on board were killed except for one man who is badly injured. With her empathic skill for healing, she is able to keep him alive and watches over him at her cabin where they are stranded by the heavy snowfall. Favor learns his name is Keeton Metro and he is a famous country singer, but she has never heard of him.

Since Favor has lived her whole life in the area, she knows little about the outside world from where Keeton came. She does realize her unanticipated houseguest is someone she enjoys being around and believes she will miss the fun times they have shared together when he is able to leave. He also is fascinated with her and the way she lives her life, and feels he will regret leaving her when he returns to Nashville. When it is finally time for Keeton to depart, Favor follows her heart for a moment and it results in her becoming a part of his world whether she wants to or not because of devastating lies.

CJ England is a master at constructing riveting novels overflowing with poignant emotions. No matter the situation, the reader will be drawn into every aspect of the complicated lives of her likable main couple. As each event transpires in DO ME A FAVOR, your heart will become more involved as what the future holds for Keeton and Favor grows to be most important. There is no way to read a book by CJ England and not find yourself completely captivated as dilemmas hold your total concentration. I do not know when I have cared so much about a couple as I did these two, as the heartbreak they suffered came across as exceedingly genuine with such palpable responses. Both of them experienced the highest of highs and then had to endure the lowest of lows. I definitely felt my own heart aching for them when they felt betrayed, and it was sometimes difficult to not let the tears fall. The descriptions of more than a few scenes are particularly touching, as any emotions associated with the moment are agonizing with depictions conveying exactly how an individual feels. There are also an abundance of joyful times, and these left me smiling as their pleasure is clearly obvious. When it comes to the passion Keeton and Favor felt for the other, it is highly combustible and they express any longing with much fervency. The anticipation level of what will happen next never wanes in this story, as surprises abound and the unexpected frequently occurs. There are numerous secondary characters who keep things interesting, some good plus several who are cruel, and their presence keeps the action interesting. DO ME A FAVOR is at once engrossing and becomes more unforgettable with each new compelling revelation.
