Chloe Richards just lost her job when Audra Phelan asks her to come see The Collector. He will pay her $5000 just to listen to him. Sounding too good to be true, Chloe finally consents. She needs the money to help her sister and her niece who is very sick. The Collector asks her to research and find a particular artifact. When she locates it, she needs to obtain it for him. Chloe agrees and after weeks of research, she finds herself at the door of Drake Marsters. Drake not only has the artifact, he is her ex husband. Not sure how to handle this, Chloe finds that the fire and passion is still there but so are the problems. Drake wants Chloe back in his life and resolves to do just that. He is willing to give her the artifact if she will spend the weekend with him and listen to what he has to say. Chloe agrees and they set off to an isolated cabin not knowing that Drake has a dangerous man after him. With trust an issue, that is exactly what they will need if they are to survive.

Chloe and Drake were true soul mates but Chloe left Drake because she could not take his secrecy. Drake knew if he was to get Chloe back he would need to reveal those secrets. The love and passion is still there but trust would need to be there also for the relationship to work. Chloe was a fun character to get to know. Sassy and determined, she left Drake no choice. Drake knew his life was empty without her and did what he needed to do to get her back.
