Also, Ms. Eden knows how to create deliciously yummy heroes, and Cain is a prime example. From the instant he charges onto the scene, he captured my heart with his forceful yet compassionate disposition. Miranda is charmingly likable, too, and her feisty temperament had me cheering her on at times. Numerous circumstances in the story are heightened by the unanticipated incidents, where dangerous threats continuously crop up. The supernatural beings are well-described, and their realistic behavior is always credible.
