Authors, add your free read. Review: Close Quarters by Denise A. Agnew
While taking a break late one evening at a coffee shop, Neena Williamson finds herself studying the men who come into the cafe. Since she is the chairperson for the Clarksville, Wyoming charity calendar featuring good-looking local men, Neena is responsible for picking out the twelfth man needed to complete the calendar. One man in particular does catch her attention. From the moment Neena spies him, she is intrigued by several aspects of the man, most not favorable. As she is getting ready to pay and leave the shop, a robber points a gun at her and she finds the man she was watching suddenly trying to help her. When circumstances force them together, she finds her awareness of him is rapidly aroused with feelings not usually stimulated. Wanting to keep his prior life in the past, Mitch Gilroy works around town doing odd jobs and not forming any close relationships with anyone. However, with the situation in the coffee shop perhaps turning deadly, he knew he had to take action and keep everyone safe if possible. When Mitch finds himself confined with a fascinating woman, he is not forthcoming with much information about himself. Still, Neena senses that she was incorrect in her original assessment of Mitch, and after a time they come to realize their inner yearnings will not be denied. The stories by Denise A. Agnew are filled with compelling situations and vividly portrayed characters. Every book I have ever read by this talented author has grabbed me during the first engaging paragraph, and the strong pull only escalates with each new scene. In her Hot Zone series, there are numerous circumstances around the couples, some terrifying and others completely awe-inspiring. Ms. Agnew has a gift for crafting breathtaking scenes, whether from distress or joy, and her talent is evident on every page of CLOSE QUARTERS. The hero and heroine possess a depth about them which not only brings them to life, but does so with potently conveyed emotions. The unanticipated set of events in which Mitch and Neena find themselves features a tensely scary incident followed by moments where their emotions almost overwhelm them. As more about this couple becomes known, such as past heartaches, the more connected one feels with them. Since Ms. Agnew is able to depict their inner and most sincere feelings with an extraordinary intensity, each scene fully captures the imagination of the reader. Some comments made by these two had me smiling from their truthfulness to each other. When their control breaks and desire takes over, the tenderness of their love making will touch one’s heart and the passion behind the intimacy between Mitch and Neena will make your own desire soar, leaving you weak with need. CLOSE QUARTERS is an emotionally charged romance packed with passionate moments, and it will be remembered long after the story is eagerly read.
