Review: Devil’s Due by Jennifer Colgan

"Alex is fantastic, he is cold on the outside but when you begin to understand his feelings he becomes an instant favorite."

Ceara Landon will do anything to save her brother from destroying himself.  After finding out he made a deal with a soul broker in trade for his band’s success, his life has derailed and has become hooked on drugs.  Deciding to take matters into her own hands, she confronts the soul broker himself, Alexander Quinn, offering her soul for her brother’s instead.

In the ninety years Alex has been a broker, not once has he met anyone like Ceara.  Her feisty and determined demeanor stir feelings he has not had since he made his own deal.  Wanting to help her as well as save her soul, Alex for the first time is unsure what to do.

Thoroughly enjoyable, I liked the idea surrounding this story.  It definitely opened a gateway to a sequel.  Alex is fantastic, he is cold on the outside but when you begin to understand his feelings he becomes an instant favorite.  Can’t wait to see what Jennifer Colgan writes next.
