Authors, add your free read. Review: Saving Brigit by Francis Drake
When the new man in her life wants her to travel to his home country of Pakistan and learn about his culture, Brigit Thatcher eagerly agrees. Regrettably, she is only a pawn to be used in rectifying a situation, and Brigit soon finds herself in the mountains of this foreign country where she is a prisoner in an isolated brothel. Fearing no one will be able to find her, she does what she must in order to survive this unimaginable ordeal. Brigit did not count on the fortitude of Thia Williams, as the accountant vows to find her young friend and get her safely back home. From the instant Thia hears Brigit is late in returning from her trip, she feels something is wrong and quickly reacts. With assistance from Derek’s investigative firm, she will get help from Rashid Salid when she arrives in Pakistan. She sincerely wishes Derek, her lover, was available to offer his own thoughts on the situation but he is on assignment and cannot be reached. Upon arriving in the Middle Eastern country, Thia and Rashid form a rather desperate plan of action after leaning the whereabouts of the missing woman. While traveling to the brothel which is owned by a man known only as The Claw, they receive a visit from Derek as he is on a mission in the area concerning this same powerful man. He is not happy with their plan, but he reluctantly agrees when slight modifications are made. Thia is unsure of the outcome of her task, yet is unwilling to stop until Brigit is once again free, regardless of what path she must follow. Francis Drake creates erotically fervent stories where passions and desires blaze with heat. This author knows how to make a scene extremely steamy yet also show a myriad of emotions. In SAVING BRIGIT, there are moments of fiery longing caused by genuine feelings between two characters and then there are the more unpredictable instances where only carnal need is present. Although some of the situations are unthinkable, Mr. Drake portrays the characters with realism by depicting true reactions and thoughts. Be warned, some of the encounters are not consensual yet Thia and Brigit remain hopeful and their stubbornness helps them persevere when their fate is uncertain. The issue of human trafficking is well written into this story, as the characters’ lack of rights and the emotions of all concerned are revealed through convincing scenes. Written with a lusty erotic voice, this story shows the more contemptible side of humans yet also tells of a caring relationship where feelings are driven by valid concern. Though theirs is not yet truly a love story, the emotions between Thia and Derek are compassionate and explosively fiery. The suspense of how situations change from one second to the next is cleverly crafted, and there are some unpredicted disclosures which are particularly surprising. SAVING BRIGIT is an erotic story with a spirited heroine and a sexy hero, where lusty desires are passionately expressed.
