Authors, add your free read. Review: Lord and Master 2: Taking Work Home by Jules Jones
Mark Paulson is a young man with the ideal job and a fabulous working relationship with his boss. The fact that his boss is also exactly Mark’s type, gay and dating Mark makes for some interesting “blurring” of the lines between work and personal life. Now that they are seeing each other, can Mark deal with Steven’s personal problems as well as his professional ones or will it all be just too much? Steven Frost is an accomplished entrepreneur and owner of his own company. His sexy young research assistant/secretary is also his lover and hopefully more. With a track record of not keeping lovers longer than it takes for Steven to spend some home time with them, Steven’s family is naturally skeptical of his current love. Will introducing Mark to his family strengthen their bonds or send Mark running from Steven? Ms. Jones provides another delicious “meat and potatoes” style offering with Taking Work Home; spicy and satisfying with every “bite” taken. By “meat and potatoes,” I mean her characters are ordinary men, flawed in ways that make me think I could find them in the offices where I work. I do not know about other readers, but I get tired of reading about the “perfect” characters found in a large number of novels on offer. Ms. Jones does an amazing job of providing characters that are imperfect in ways that just make reading their story that much more delightful. The story line of Taking Work Home is one that is so accessible that no effort at all is required to slip into the world of Lord and Master and it is a thrill to read it. Mark is sweet, biddable and as sexy as can be. Steven is powerful, grumpy and hot as a fire cracker. The secondary characters are developed enough to make me feel like I am part of the tale without distracting from Mark and Steven. The love scenes may require fire extinguishers if reading while setting on flammable surfaces. The problems faced by Mark and Steven are so well presented that I find myself taking sides and cheering victories. Bravo, Ms. Jones for giving us another wonderful and unique book to cherish! Please note that if man on man love action is offensive to you, then you should skip acquiring this novel. I promise your not purchasing this one will not offend any of us who have purchased it. In fact, we will applaud your good sense.
