Review: Moonstruck by B. J. McCall

"B.J. McCall introduces the reader to an agent of the Paranormal Crime Unit whose abilities help her track down suspects better than any bloodhound or detective."

Philanthropist Pierce Brannan enjoys the ladies.  His latest date admires his prize possession, the Nightskye diamond, resting in a special case with all the security bells and whistles to keep it safe.  Pierce wants to impress his date (he wants sex) so he agrees to let her touch it for a second.  No sooner does he hand her the gem than everything goes black.  The woman takes the gem and knocks Pierce unconscious.  Pierce’s deceiving date turns out to be a werewolf, so Pierce goes to the Paranormal Crime Unit to get help.  PCU identifies the woman and assigns the perfect agent to bring her to justice.  When Pierce meets the agent, his lost gem is suddenly the last thing on his mind.  Something about the woman sets Pierce’s blood on fire.  Can this beautiful agent really help Pierce get the Nightskye back?

Agent Rilee Winter, a werewolf, is one of the best operatives that the Paranormal Crime Unit could assign to Pierce’s case.  The woman who took the diamond is Rilee’s twin sister and no one knows her better than Rilee.  Rilee knows all of her sister’s tricks.  Pierce insists that they work together to find the diamond.  Rilee does not feel comfortable with that idea.  She feels a strong attraction for the human and she knows that he feels the same pull.  Rilee finally gives in to Pierce and allows him to help her with the case.  As they get closer to apprehending her twin, Rilee and Pierce find it hard to fight their growing attraction to each other.  Will Rilee give in to her Lycan blood and mate with the sexy Pierce?

B.J. McCall introduces the reader to an agent of the Paranormal Crime Unit whose abilities help her track down suspects better than any bloodhound or detective.  Pierce may be a playboy at heart, but once he meets Rilee all thoughts of other women disappear from his mind.  Rilee’s twin is nothing like her sister, but the fugitive knows exactly what buttons to push to get what she wants.  Rilee will not let the fact that the criminal is a member of her family keep her from doing her job.  This story has a well-constructed mystery plot with lots of surprises to keep the reader interested.  The chemistry between Pierce and Rilee adds sexual spice to the mix.  Will Rilee find the Nightskye diamond before her sister has it broken up into smaller diamonds?
