Review: Fur Ball Fever by Maureen Fisher

"In a tale filled with laugh-out-loud humor, lots of action, and hot sex, Maureen Fisher gives the reader a fast-paced book guaranteed to please any lover of suspense tales."

Grace Donnelly, a woman of action, finally has everything she wants.  Her pet spa is a success.  With her nutty aunt Beth at her side, Grace does not need anyone else to complicate her life…until someone kidnaps one of the dogs in her care.  The dog won the previous year’s Jersey Shore Fur Ball and is the favorite to win this year as well.  Grace soon learns that two other prize-winning dogs are missing from the complex where she lives.  Grace needs help and she has no choice but to seek out her former lover.  He controls the security cameras at the complex and she needs to see the previous night’s recordings to see if she can identify the kidnapper.  Will he help her or hold their old relationship against her?

Nick Jackson broke up with Grace because is reckless and her actions could get her killed one day.  Nick senses trouble when Grace appears on his doorstep.  He has a job to do and he does not have time to listen to her problems.  Nick is investigating a local preacher who bilked his grandfather out of his savings and murdered a man.  Nick soon learns that the search for the missing dogs is related to his investigation.  Nick decides to make Grace his partner to keep her safe.  He soon finds that he still has feelings for the beautiful spitfire.  Will Nick be able to find the missing dogs and bring down his prey?

In a tale filled with laugh-out-loud humor, lots of action, and hot sex, Maureen Fisher gives the reader a fast-paced book guaranteed to please any lover of suspense tales.  Grace’s family ignored her desire to make a life of her own and tried to control her.  Grace finally has the life she wants and will never let a man control her again.  Nick, an old-fashioned man, wants to protect Grace from harm, even if it means wrapping her up in cotton to protect her.  This story takes the reader from a comfortable housing complex in New Jersey to Atlantic City and even includes several visits to Kinki, a BDSM club.  Grace’s Aunt Beth, a hippie chick who never grew up, adds additional hilarious moments to the story.  This book is a mystery with sizzling hot sex and laughs galore.  I was sorry to see it end.
