Gordon Thomas is a constable of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and a bear shifter.  Gordon drives his patrol car over snow covered roads when a car almost causes an accident.  He soon finds the car in a ditch.  The only occupant of the car is a woman with a bullet wound in her shoulder.  Gordon rescues her just the car explodes.  Gordon, the only Mukswa (bear shifter) in his territory, cannot believe that the female is also a Mukswa.  Females do not shift.  A snowstorm forces Gordon to take the woman and seek shelter in a nearby cabin.  The woman stirs something primal within Gordon is and his bear wants to claim her as his mate.  He needs to discover why someone shot her.  Will Gordon be able to keep her safe?

Sheridan Stevens refuses to mate with a man she hates, so she runs.  No matter where she goes, his hired goons find her.  One of them shot her and her car spun out of control.  A handsome man rescues Sheridan from her damaged car.  Sheridan knows he is a shifter.  She grows fond of Gordon and fears that the men who are after her will kill him.  Sheridan wants to leave to save his life, but the weather keeps getting worse.  Primal lust grows too strong to deny and Gordon and Sheridan give in to their passion.  What will happen when the men following Sheridan finally find her?

Amy Ruttan’s contribution to the Oh Canada series is the story of a woman running from a brutal man who plans to make her his mate.  After almost killing his brother, Gordon fears he cannot control his bear.  He lives far from his family so he cannot hurt them by accident.  Ms. Ruttan forces Gordon to face his demons when the life of the woman he loves is in danger.  This is a tender love story, but the there is nothing tender about the primal lust that drives Sheridan and Gordon.  Add to the mix a group of male shifters who plan to kidnap Sheridan and return her to the man she hates and you have an exciting story.  Will Gordon allow his bear to surface when Sheridan’s life is on the line?
