Review: An Imperfect Wife by Grace Wen

""

Married for 15 years and wanting to support her husband in his job, Nicole Evans finds herself moving to a new town, away from her friends and family.  She has no friends and rarely sees her husband, Josh, who is growing more distant and obsessed with his position by the day.  Nicole has no one to talk to until she finds that Josh’s boss, Adam Cahill, has a willing ear to listen.   He is all kindness and empathetic, all of the things Josh is not.  When they share a kiss, Nicole knows this could lead her life forever.

Wen has built the sexual tension very steadily in An Imperfect Wife.  For a novella, it packs a powerful punch.  What many may identify with is dealt with openly and honestly here.  The characters and situations are completely true to life and I found myself heartbroken and joyful by turns.   An Imperfect Wife is well worth your time.
