Dear Readers,

I’m of two minds tonight about our contest. It was originally my idea for it to be a fun contest, where readers could nominate and vote for books they enjoyed. In the past we realized there was a lot of work involved with making sure the books nominated were in the correct categories.

This year we simplified the categories, and streamlined the nomination/voting process. Or so we thought.

In the last week I’ve received emails the likes of which I never thought I’d get. Obviously our contest has made many people very unhappy and that was NEVER our intention.

If you’re still reading, please note this contest was for entertainment purposes only.

I had every intention of going through each book to double check and make sure it was in the right spot and I wanted to move the books to the correct categories. Then reopen the polls so that we could have a final few days of voting.

But after the impatient ranting emails, I just don’t have the heart for it. Folks who know me say I should just shut everything down and not award a single prize.

But I’m a reader like you and I have a ball going through the books. I’m sure this will make many mad, but we said voting would end yesterday, Jan. 31. And so it ended yesterday, Jan. 31.

So, without further ado, here are the winners. I’m including actual screenshots of the winning polls since there is no way for me to freeze live polls with our software.

I apologize for it. This is not how I wanted to run my contest.
